For more than a decade, the company’s award-winning innovations and solutions have redefined how textile and apparel companies work on the shop floor by setting new standards for productivity data collection anywhere and anytime.

A firm believer in research and development, GPRO devoted its initial three (3) years of development on research and development (R&D) activities. Established in 1996, under the name New Paradigm Technologies (NPT) Sdn Bhd, in 2004, NPT was then incorporated as GPRO Technologies Berhad, an MSC-status company in Malaysia. GPRO now actively markets products under the ‘G.PRO’ brand, namely G.PRO SDT and G.PRO IEES – award-winning real-time online shop floor data-collection and feedback management systems for the textile and apparel industry.

To date, GPRO products have been installed in over ten countries: China, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, Cambodia and Singapore. The company continuously promotes and markets this system among mid to large size garment manufacturers worldwide. Some of its customers include Hong-Kong based Crystal Group and Smart Shirts Ltd, and Nhabe Garment Company from Vietnam.

Industry leadership

GPRO products and service quality are one of the best in the region. International recognition has come in the form of the Industrial Export Excellence Award for Merchandise from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Malaysia 2003. The company obtained a Bronze place for Malaysia’s Emerging Brand Award 2005 and was short listed as a finalist in Red Herring Asia’s Top 100 companies. In 2004, the company made its IPO debut on the Mesdaq market of the Malaysia Stock Exchange. In 2007 and 2008, the company won Best Industrial Application awards for G.PRO IEES and G.PRO SDT respectively at the prestigious Asia Pacific ICT Awards. G.PRO SDT customers won awards at Hong Kong RFID 2008 competition by demonstrating highly innovative RFID implementations in use on their shop floor.

Entrepreneurship

GPRO has a strong commitment towards technology development. Approximately 50 per cent of its total staff strength is employed in the area of research, developing new products and enhancing existing systems. The company’s pool of skilled knowledge workers are drawn from various fields including software engineering, communication engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, business administration and marketing.

With the head office in Malaysia, GPRO also has regional offices in Vietnam, Singapore, China and Thailand to help extend customer support. GPRO aspires to establish its solutions as the de facto industry standard within the international textile and apparel industry.
