GPRO at Singapore Fashion Week(SFW06) 2006
1st November 2006 – GPRO Technologies made a strong showing at the Singapore Fashion Week (SFW06). The exhibition saw exhibitors from all over the region from China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Japan showcasing everything related to the apparel and fashion industry.
The international exhibition was well represented and saw many of the key figures in the world’s leading apparel manufacturers and suppliers walking the aisles in attendance.
One of the notable seminar speakers this year for Singapore Fashion Week was GPRO Technologies CEO, Mr. Quek Kar Loon. He shared his challenging but insightful executive thoughts on transforming the apparel industry titled ‘Lean Manufacturing: Concepts and Applications in Garment Production‘. He discussed the initial challenges of adopting lean practices in the industry, based on GPROs decade long specialization in the industry, but also showcased how combining lean values, processes and solutions could ultimately lead to greater success and profitability if adopted by the industry wholeheartedly.
Other highlights of the fun-filled Singapore Fashion week included highlights of the latest fashion trends, manufacturing technologies, fabrics and executive insight into production challenges facing apparel manufacturers transitioning in the 21st century.
Singapore Fashion Week is organized by Textile & Fashion Federation (Singapore), and supported by International Enterprise Singapore and SPRING Singapore. For more details about the event, see Singapore Fashion Week 2006- Gateway to Asia or Singapore Fashion Week website.
