Components of the G.PRO SDT System

The following are some of the components of the G.PRO SDT (Shop floor Data Tracking) System:



SmartTag
An industrial grade reusable read/write tag replacing the traditional job ticket. Stores all relevant cutpiece/bundle information and operation status.

SmartTerm
A microprocessor based terminal mounted on every workstation to capture job flow data. Reads and validates job claims on the Smart Tag with an easy touch. Transmits real time job transactions to the G.PRO server. Its memory buffer stores up to two days of transactions. It is powered by a 12V power supply.


SmartBase & SmartTray
A semi-automated device used by the cutting department to download new cut lot bundle information into the SmartTag.The SmartTray holds ten SmartTags at a time.


G.PRO WorkStation
A PC-based Windows workstation configured to run the G.Comm Communication software or the G.PRO Infomaster Software Suite. Serves as a Data Concentrator for the G.PRO SmartTerms.



G.PRO Server
A PC-based Windows NT server configured to run the G.PRO SQL relational database. Connected to multiple G.PRO Workstations using a 10/100 Base T Hub.

  J-BOX and Cabling
The G.PRO SDT uses an industry standard RS-485 communication protocol to network all SmartTerms with a safe and cost effective multi-drop cabling architecture. The J-Box provides plug-and-play functionality in connecting up the SmartTerms.
