First CMMI audits begin at GPRO

September 9, 2005 – The CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) audits for GPRO have begun, with audits being done on selected software teams. The US-originated process improvement model for software development, started implementation in April 2005 (see news report from the same month). CMMI is being implemented to improve the quality standard of internal processes and systems to international levels. GPRO, along with 18 other SME companies will be looking to improve their processes to CMMI Level 2 by January 2006.

The CMMI model is used by major institutions and corporations all over the world including General Motors, AIG and The US Department of Defense.
